Where are you from and where do you live right now?
I'm from Buenos Aires, I have been living in Barcelona for the past seven years. Now I live somewhere in between Madrid, Barcelona, and London.
What is the first thing you do every morning to get the day off to the right start?
A lot of silence and coffee.
You work as an art director, how is your typical working day?
I guess it's very different every day. For some weeks my work goes on in front of a computer or books for countless hours, surfing the internet and finding stuff; the other half is getting my hands dirty visiting markets and rentals, carrying lots of furniture and boxes!
Could you explain how is your mental process to get things together and create a story? Where do you get inspirations?
For scripts and videos I live out of curiosity, I like to gather stories from people that would randomly share them with me.
I studied Art History, so most of my references come from here. My other endless source of inspiration is my mother, who is a quite intellectual psychologist, very into philosophy and sociology, I consult her very often for ideas and text references.
What is one of your first memories you will forever remember?
I think one of my first memories is my older sister Josefina in our house in Uruguay all dressed up in scarfs and jewelry pretending to be a scorpio clairvoyant.
How do you manage the competition? Do you feel it or you enlive it only through others? How do you handle it?
I'm not a very competitive person, I think it's important to mind your business and not look too much to the sides and what others are doing.
Do you think that a working/private-life balance is important? How do you preserve it in your life?
Not too well, freelance life mixes up friends, work, weekends weekdays; I don't have a problem with it though. Social life is very intimate with work-life, you meet someone new that might be your new good friend or partner for a project!
Do you have rituals that help you feel confident about yourself?
I like to meditate, force my self into quietness and stillness even when I'm running around with strict deadlines or shootings. Having this under control makes me feel more serene and confident.
Which human characteristic wins you over every time?
Transparency, I like politically incorrect people that are always genuine and honest.
What have you changed your mind about over the past two years and why?
I was finishing my work in AOO two years ago, after this I started working by myself.
What does wellness mean to you?
Wellness is for me being as aligned as possible in between your heart, your mind, and your body. Being able to control anxiety and the ups and downs of work and life.
What would you write on a billboard in the center of the city where you live?
I would suggest to everyone that: Whatever happens is the best for you.
